At CSPA we are integrating a curriculum, in which algebra and geometry are taught every year in addition to topics in statistics, probability and discrete mathematics. In order to give students inquiry based learning we are using a new technique to teach mathematics. This will involve group learning and prompting questions that promote students to explore many different theories of mathematics. Along with using a project/inquiry based learning approach we will be implementing daily ACT practice to prepare students for the mathematics portion in which most struggle.
students:
I would like to welcome you to a year of exploration and innovation. This will be unlike any of your past mathematics classes because you will have an opportunity to discover the logic and reasoning involved in real life mathematical questions. As a class we will go over an ACT problem each day to fully prepare you for the exam and give you the skills you need to excel in college and life.
